COVID-19 Update
TES’ travel and exposure protocols remain the same and in effect for all employees, even if they have received the COVID-19 vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccine was designed to help keep the person vaccinated from getting seriously ill if they contract the virus and it is not 100% effective. Clinical trials are still being conducted; however, some studies show that vaccinated people can still be asymptomatic carriers. While those vaccinated may be protected from getting ill if they catch the virus, there are still individuals who are still not eligible for the vaccine: our students, clients, and other co-workers. TES has decided to continue with the existing protocols surrounding travel and exposure, knowing the information above and considering the vulnerable population that we serve.
Travel
If traveling outside the state or using public transportation, all employees, including those who have been vaccinated, must notify Adriana Avitia before booking to determine if quarantining upon return will be needed.
Exposure
Employees are still required to report COVID-19 exposure to Adriana Avitia even if they are vaccinated. Certain conditions must be met to determine whether a quarantine will be necessary. The criteria are below:
1. It has been at least two weeks since the employee received their second dose
2. It has been less than three months since the employee received both doses
3. The employee is not experiencing any symptoms since their exposure
All three conditions must be met for staff not to quarantine after exposure when fully vaccinated (they must receive both doses). However, determination on whether staff will be required to quarantine or not will be made by Adriana. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates accordingly.
